About the Program
The Promise Scholarship is a merit-based financial aid program for West Virginia high school graduates planning to attend one of the state’s public or independent two- or four-year institutions.
Students who achieve certain academic requirements can receive up to $5,500, starting with the 2024-2025 academic year, in annual awards toward tuition and mandatory fees. Awards are contingent upon annual funding of the program by the West Virginia State Legislature.
How to Apply
Your Promise of a Bright Future Starts Here. The Promise Scholarship will pay $5,500 per year or the cost of tuition and mandatory fees, whichever is less, at any eligible institution.
Apply by completing the Promise Scholarship application and FAFSA by the March 1, 2025, deadline.
